What to check before you choose
Five things decide whether a link in bio works as a store.
- Fees. Some tools take a percentage of every sale. Others charge a flat monthly price and take nothing. Payment processor fees (Stripe, PayPal, Mayar) come on top with every tool.
- Checkout in your country. A tool can list a store feature that your country cannot use. Linktree's help center, for example, does not list Indonesia among the countries where creators can sell.
- Delivery. Buyers should get the file, course or booking right after paying, without you sending anything by hand.
- Upsells and order bumps. They raise the value of each order. Check which plan includes them.
- Email capture. A free download that asks for an email address builds a list for your next launch.
How Kilat handles each one
- Fees: Kilat takes 4% of sales on Free and 0% on PRO. Stripe or Mayar processor fees are separate. PRO costs US$15 a month, or Rp229.000 a month in Indonesia.
- Checkout: in Indonesia, buyers pay through Mayar with QRIS, GoPay, OVO, DANA, ShopeePay, virtual accounts or cards. In every other country Stripe supports, you connect your own Stripe account and buyers pay by card through Stripe Checkout. The money goes straight to your Stripe account, and Kilat never holds it.
- Delivery: digital downloads, online courses, locked content and 1:1 bookings all sell from the same Superlink page. Free has no limit on the number of products or courses.
- Upsells: order bumps, upsells and discount codes are on the Free plan.
- Email capture: lead magnets are free downloads that collect email addresses.
How the fees add up
Add the monthly price to the fee on your sales. At $1,000 in monthly sales, a 9% fee is $90. A plan that costs $30 a month and takes 0% costs $30. At $100 in sales, the 9% fee is only $9, so the free plan wins.
The same arithmetic applies to Kilat. PRO at US$15 a month costs less than the 4% Kilat fee on Free once your sales pass about US$375 a month (about Rp5.725.000 a month in Indonesia). Below that, Free costs less. Both figures leave out processor fees.
Where the others are stronger
- Linktree is the best-known name in link in bio, and its pricing page lists 0% fees on Pro ($17 a month). Free and Starter cannot sell digital products, and its help center does not list Indonesia as a selling country.
- Beacons has Instagram auto-DM on its free plan. Free and Creator plans take 9% of sales.
- Stan Store takes 0% and bundles booking tools, courses and Instagram auto-DM into one $29 plan. It has no free plan, and order bumps and upsells are listed under Creator Pro at $99 a month.
- Lynk.id is a familiar local name for Indonesian creators and prices in Rupiah. It does not list Instagram auto-DM.
Which one to pick
- Selling in Indonesia and getting paid in Rupiah: Kilat or Lynk.id.
- Selling outside Indonesia with checkout on your own Stripe account: Kilat, Stan Store or Beacons.
- Starting at zero a month: Kilat Free (4% Kilat fee), Beacons Free (9%) or Lynk.id Basic (5%).
- Wanting auto-DM on a free plan: Beacons.
- Wanting the store, Instagram auto-DM and an AI chat agent on one bill: Kilat PRO.
