How Kilat Live works
Kilat Live is the donation product for streamers inside Kilat. You get a public tip page at kilat.bio/live/@yourusername and a dashboard at kilat.bio/live. In Indonesia a tip like this is called a saweran.
A viewer opens your tip page, picks an amount, adds a name and a message, and pays. When the payment clears, the alert plays on your stream and the tip appears under Support Received in your dashboard.
- Open kilat.bio/live while signed in to Kilat. Set your amounts, your thank-you message and what viewers can send.
- Add the overlay link to OBS or TikTok LIVE Studio as a Browser Source, then click Test Alert.
- Share your tip link or the QR code in your bio, stream description or pinned chat.
- You do not need PRO. Kilat Live works on the Free plan, and the 2% fee applies on every plan.
Set up donation alerts in OBS
Alerts run on a transparent web page. In your dashboard, open Live Streaming Overlay, pick a widget and copy its link. In OBS, add a Browser Source, paste the link and use the size shown next to the widget. The Alert widget is 800 by 600. Click Test Alert to check that the picture, sound and text show up.
Media Share and the spin wheel play inside the Alert widget, so add the Alert source once. Keep your overlay links private. If one leaks, reset it in the dashboard and update the URL in OBS.
The widgets you can add, each as its own Browser Source:
- Alert: tip alerts, plus media, voice notes, text-to-speech and the spin wheel (800 by 600).
- Top 10 and Recent: your biggest supporters and your latest tips (400 by 520).
- Goal: a progress bar toward a target (800 by 160).
- Timer: a subathon countdown that gains time with each tip (500 by 180).
- Poll, Running Text and QR Code.
Text-to-speech, media share and song requests
Text-to-speech reads a supporter's message aloud. You set a minimum tip, a speed and a volume. There is a classic flat reader and four natural voices, two male and two female. The announcement line is in Indonesian for rupiah tips and in English for tips in other currencies. Messages that trip your filters are not read.
Media Share lets a supporter attach something to a tip. You decide what is allowed, what it costs and how long it can run:
- YouTube, TikTok and Instagram links.
- Uploaded images, videos and audio files, and voice notes.
- Song requests: the supporter searches for a song, and the price sets how many seconds play.
- A media library, if you want supporters to pick only from media you chose.
- Auto-play or approval first, plus a limit per supporter, a cooldown and a maximum queue length.
Goals, milestones, leaderboards and themes
A goal bar tracks a funding target, such as a new microphone. Milestones are timed challenges with a target and an outcome you choose, and only one runs at a time. The leaderboard can cover today, this week, this month or all time, and can rank by total amount or by number of tips.
Polls count votes by tip amount, so they measure support, not headcount. The spin wheel picks a result after a tip that meets your minimum. You carry out any promised action yourself.
Four templates (Tactical, Neon Arcade, Cozy Studio and Clean Studio) set colors, fonts and a light or dark tip page. You can change the colors and fonts yourself. Each paid tip can also post to a Discord or custom webhook.
Fees compared with other platforms
Kilat takes a flat 2% platform fee on each tip, on every plan. In Indonesia, supporters also see a payment service fee added at checkout. Outside Indonesia, the 2% is an application fee on a Stripe charge made on your own Stripe account, and Stripe's own processing fees apply on top.
The other Indonesian platforms publish higher percentages. Sociabuzz lists 5% per transaction, Trakteer 5%, Tako 5% and Saweria 5% to 6%. Sociabuzz and Saweria say their percentage covers payment gateway costs, and Trakteer deducts payment method fees separately, so compare what you keep, not only the headline number.
Streamlabs and StreamElements say they take no cut of tips. Processor fees from PayPal or the card payment provider still apply. The table shows what each platform published on 2026-11-01.
How payouts work
In Indonesia, tips are credited to your Kilat balance after the 2% fee, and you withdraw to a bank account or e-wallet. The minimum payout is Rp50.000, and each payout has a Rp5.000 transfer fee. The 4% withdrawal fee that applies on the Free plan does not apply to money from tips.
Outside Indonesia, supporters pay by card through Stripe Checkout in your Stripe account's currency. The money goes straight to your own Stripe account and Kilat never holds it. Stripe pays you out under its own rules, and it does not cover every country, so check that yours is supported.
Moderators and safety
Tips are filtered before they reach your stream. The online-gambling (judol) filter, a profanity filter and a link block are on by default, and you can add your own blocked words. You can require approval for tips or only for media, block a video, a song channel or a supporter, and use Safe Mode to stop playback and hold the queue.
Moderators use their own Kilat account or a private moderator link. They can approve, reject, skip, replay, pause the overlay and manage the subathon. They cannot change settings or see overlay links.
Test Mode lets you run the whole flow, from the tip page to the alert, without real money. A test pass lasts two hours, and test tips do not count toward revenue, goals or leaderboards.
