To accept donations on a live stream with Kilat Live, you need a public tip page, an alert link added to OBS as a Browser Source, and a way to get paid. In Indonesia, supporters pay through Mayar with QRIS, e-wallets or virtual accounts. In countries Stripe supports, you connect your own Stripe account, supporters pay by card through Stripe Checkout, and the money goes straight to you. Kilat takes a flat 2% platform fee on every tip, on every plan, and Kilat Live works on the Free plan.
What you need
- A Kilat account with a username. Your tip link uses it.
- OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop or TikTok LIVE Studio on a PC. Going live from a phone alone cannot show overlays.
- A way to get paid. In Indonesia that is a bank account or e-wallet. Elsewhere it is a Stripe account in a country Stripe supports.
Step 1: Open Kilat Live
Sign in and open kilat.bio/live. The first tab is Link. It shows your public tip page, kilat.bio/live/@yourusername, and a QR code you can download. In Indonesia a tip like this is called a saweran, and you will see that word on the Indonesian side of the product.
Put the tip link in your bio, your stream description and your pinned chat. Show the QR code on screen if you want viewers to scan it.
Step 2: Set up payouts
Where the money goes depends on where you live.
In Indonesia, tips are credited to your Kilat balance after the 2% fee. You withdraw to a bank account or e-wallet from the Earnings page.
In other countries, open Earnings and choose Connect Stripe. You connect your own Stripe account, and tips are paid into it directly. Kilat never holds the money. Tips are charged in your Stripe account's default currency, and every amount in the dashboard is in whole units of that currency: minimum tip, preset buttons, text-to-speech threshold, goals and timers. The minimum tip is Stripe's minimum charge rounded up to a whole unit of your currency, which is about USD 1 for a US dollar account.
Stripe does not cover every country. Check Stripe's list of supported countries before you plan around it.
Step 3: Set up your tip page
Open Edit & Settings, then Page Settings. Fill in a short headline, a thank-you message, an invitation to tip and the text on the support button. Pick up to six preset amounts. Choose which media supporters can attach. Save each section and check the phone preview next to it.
Step 4: Add the alert to OBS
- In the dashboard, open Live Streaming Overlay and pick Alert.
- Copy the Overlay Link. Keep it private.
- In OBS, click + under Sources and choose Browser.
- Paste the link into the URL field and set Width to 800 and Height to 600.
- Tick "Control audio via OBS" so alert sounds go into the stream.
- Go back to the dashboard and click Test Alert. Move and resize the source in your scene.
Media Share and the spin wheel play inside the Alert overlay, so you only add one Alert source. Adding it twice makes every tip show twice. Other widgets, such as Top 10, Goal and the subathon Timer, are separate Browser Sources. In TikTok LIVE Studio, use Add Source, then Link, and paste the same overlay link.
Step 5: Text-to-speech and media
Text-to-speech reads a supporter's message aloud. Under Alert, find the Text-to-speech card and switch on "Read messages aloud". Set a minimum tip, a voice (a flat Classic voice or four natural voices), a speed and a volume. For tips in a currency other than rupiah, the announcement line is read in English. Messages that trip your filters are not read.
Media Share lets supporters attach a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram link, an uploaded file or a voice note to a tip. You choose the mode (Open, Library only or Off), the minimum amount, the length limit and whether items need your approval. File uploads are off by default. If your chat attracts trolls, start with manual approval.
Step 6: Test before you go live
Test Mode, under Edit & Settings, gives you a two-hour test pass. You can run the whole flow from tip page to alert without real money. Test tips do not count toward revenue, balance, goals or leaderboards.
Test Stream Setup, on the Stream Control tab, checks that your overlay is connected, that an alert plays, and that sound and the pause and volume controls respond. It shows a short alert and plays a sound on your open overlay, so run it before you start broadcasting.
What a tip costs
| Indonesia (Mayar) | Other countries (Stripe) | |
|---|---|---|
| Kilat platform fee | 2% flat, taken when the tip is paid | 2% application fee on each charge |
| Payment processing | Supporters see a payment service fee added at checkout | Stripe's processing fees, charged to your Stripe account |
| Where the money lands | Kilat balance (98% of the tip) | Your own Stripe account |
| Payout | Rp50.000 minimum, Rp5.000 transfer fee per payout | Stripe pays out under its own rules |
| Currency | Rupiah | Your Stripe account's default currency |
The 2% applies on Free, PRO and every other plan. On a US$10 tip, Kilat's fee is US$0.20, and Stripe's processing fee comes out of your Stripe account on top of that. The 4% Free-plan fee that Kilat charges on other sales does not apply to tips.
Keep the chat clean
The online-gambling filter, the profanity filter and the link block are on by default. You can add blocked words, require approval for every tip, and add moderators. A moderator uses their own Kilat account or a private moderator link. They can approve, reject, skip, replay and pause the overlay, but they cannot change your settings or see your overlay links.
See how it compares
If you are choosing between platforms, the fee gap matters most when you withdraw often or collect many small tips. Kilat Live vs Sociabuzz vs Saweria lays out each platform's published numbers with sources. The product page, Kilat Live, has the full feature list. You can start on the Free plan and add PRO later if you want Instagram and WhatsApp automation too.
